Pre-Cana marriage preparation, and other similar programs, are designed to allow married couples to pass along the lessons they learned to engaged couples. Like any teacher, the mentor couple offers their combined knowledge and experience for the benefit of couples planning to get married. The more you get out of Pre-Cana, the less time you will spend reinventing the wheel in your marriage. Start with an open mind. Go in with the attitude that you will listen to all the advice and reflect on it before rejecting anything. Focus on the advice that is helpful. Build a relationship with your Pre-Cana facilitator.
