If you’re trying to avoid aluminum, which has been linked to Alzheimer’s and breast cancer, consider your antiperspirant. You put it on your bare, sometimes freshly nicked-from-shaving skin, every morning (hopefully!). Did you know it might be up to 1/4 aluminum salts? The aluminum is the active ingredient that helps antiperspirant block your sweat glands. If you’d like a simple, frugal, EFFECTIVE way to avoid those hazards, read on! Mix about 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup cornstarch in a small bowl. Add coconut oil, a Tablespoon or so at a time, until all the dry ingredients have been mixed in. I find it takes about 4-6 Tbs. Optional: If you’d like more scent, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil at this time. Make sure your coconut oil is in its solid form. It has a 76 degree melt point, so you may need to refrigerate it first for a short time if it’s warmer than 76 degrees in your house. You can use the mixture as is and apply with your fingertips, but that’s pretty mess
