How Do You Make The Most Delicous Buttercream Cake Frosting?
Have you ever had a cake with frosting that you would almost rather eat by itself? This is an absolutely delicious, ludicrously easy frosting recipe that always has people fighting over who will lick the bowl! First, combine equal parts butter and cream cheese, and mix until very soft and well blended. Using about half a box of Philadelphia (and equal parts butter) will yield just enough to thinly layer a double cake or thickly layer a sheet cake. Add powdered sugar and a dash of vanilla. You’ll notice I didn’t include cup measurements; I don’t really believe in recipes, just ingredients. This one is all about tasting and testing. Mix powdered sugar until you have a workable consistency. Taste it! This is the best part. If it’s: Bland–add more vanilla. Too thick–add skim milk drop by drop until it thins out. A little goes a long way. Gritty–if you put in too much sugar but like the density, add one or two drops of skim milk to absorb some of the texture. Too drippy–add more sugar.
