Throughout the ages the mediums and tools artists use have changed tremendously, although the basic fundamentals of art have remained. Mixing paints and materials to create different colors is a basic skill widely used by many artists and painters today. Making bright colors normally requires the mixing in of whites and other vibrant paints to achieve the desired color tone such as lime green. Place green paint onto a pallet using a paint brush large enough to produce the amount of color that you desire. Using a different paint brush, place a smaller portion of yellow close by. Mix the yellow with the green paint in a swirling motion using a new brush. Add a drop or two of water or wet the paintbrush slightly and mix thoroughly until a smooth color is produced.
