How Do You Make The Cheesiest Baked Macaroni And Cheese?
Macaroni and Cheese is comfort food- there’s no denying it. This one is especially comforting to me- it’s my mom’s recipe! The secret to making this so cheesy is the addition of Swiss. Its not a traditional cheese for baked macaroni but you’ll see it adds a great flavor as well. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook small elbow macaroni according to direction. Drain in colander and rinse with cold water. Lightly grease a large casserole dish. Line bottom of dish with a layer of macaroni noodles. Approx. 1/2 -3/4 inch deep. Salt layer of noodles and add first a layer of Swiss cheese and then a layer of cheddar. Repeat until you have used all your noodles and cheese. Pour the milk over top of macaroni and cook for about 25-30 minutes or until cheese is melted through and milk is absorbed. Stir once or twice throughout cooking time.
