How Do You Make Thai-Style Baked Salmon?
This being my first article on eHow, I thought I would start with one of my favorite subjects–food. I was challenged by my husband this week to make a full course meal strictly “Thai style.” Given that I live in Israel and the kosher ingredients are hard to find, it was no simple task. I made this salmon dish as a starter course; it was absolutely delicious, tender, and favorable. I guarantee it will be a hit at your dinner table. Preheat oven to 400°F with center rack. Slice and toss the mushrooms with 1 Tbs. of the sesame oil. Arrange the mushrooms in a single layer and roast for 10 – 15 min. In a small bowl, whisk the remaining 1/2 Tbs. sesame oil with the tamari (or soy sauce), mirin, and ginger. Set aside 1/3 cup of this mixture and pour the rest into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Add the cornstarch-water mixture to saucepan and cook, stirring, until thickened. Remove from the heat. Line 11×7-inch pan with foil or use disposable aluminum pan.
