How Do You Make Swag Curtains With Rosettes?
Simple but elegant window treatments can be made by draping lengths of fabric over decorative curtain rods to create swags. For a little extra pizazz, accent the corners of the swags with rosettes. Rosettes are strips of fabric that are sewn together to form circles and then pulled together around the inside edge to create ruffled “flowers.” Puffs of fabric from the swag curtains create the centers of the rosettes. To understand the concept, think of pulling a short ponytail through a hair scrunchy. Hang a curtain rod across the top of your window if one is not already in place. Make sure your rod extends several inches out from the window to give you room to wrap the swag around the back of the rod when you drape the fabric. Decide how far down the sides of the window you want your swag to hang. This is a matter of personal preference. The swag could extend all the way down to the windowsill or even puddle on the floor. It also could drop as little as 1 foot from the top corners. Endi
