How Do You Make Sure A Child Is Properly Immunized In His Or Her Second Year?
If you’ve properly immunized your infant, the second year of vaccinations will be easier. Immunization is absolutely necessary to prevent your child from contracting potentially lethal diseases. Review your medical records to make sure your two-year-old had all the proper shots as an infant. Speak with your pediatrician to insure that your baby was immunized with DPT, Hib, inactive poliovirus and Hepatitis B in the first year. Vaccinate your child at 12 to 15 months against measles, mumps and rubella with the MMR vaccine. Have your child vaccinated for tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis again between 15 and 18 months of age. Have your child take an oral polio vaccine and get vaccinated against Haemophilus Type B between 12 and 18 months of age. Vaccinate your child for chicken pox at 15 to 18 months of age, if not vaccinated earlier, and as recommended by your pediatrician.
