I’m not an expert on German cooking by any means, but I have taken the original recipe step-by-step and turned out with some pretty tasty cabbage rolls! Gather ingredients. Dice 1/2 lb bacon, 1 green pepper, and 1 onion. Add salt, pepper, and paprika to taste. Fry on medium heat until onion is golden brown. Mix 1.5 lb ground beef, 1.5 lb ground pork, 2 eggs, 1.5 cups uncooked rice, and salt & pepper to taste. Then add bacon mixture and mix well. Core two large leafy cabbage heads, then steam them. Take one individual cabbage leaf at a time and put one good tablespoon of the meat mixture on the leaf and roll it up. (The amount of meat mixture will vary slightly, based on the size of the leaf.)
