If you are not a fan of squash, you may find you like this different type of squash! Spaghetti Squash is also referred to as vegetable squash. It received its nickname because the squash separates into strands resembling spaghetti after cooked. It is easily grown and great for dieters, very high in vitamins and low in calories and carb. Spaghetti squash can be used like other pasta. Clean outside shell of spaghetti squash. Cut off stem. Cut spaghetti squash lengthwise and remove seeds. Place on microwaveable plate. Put 1 tablespoon of water in center of spaghetti squash. Cover top of spaghetti squash with saran wrap and microwave for 6 minutes. (Time will vary depending on microwave used and size of spaghetti squash). Check spaghetti squash after 5 minutes. It is done when strands easily separate with a fork.
