Soy candle tarts are popular with individuals who want a more environmentally friendly option when it comes to candles, and are fairly easy to make yourself. You can use silicone or metal baking molds to form the shapes you want and colors and scents are entirely customizable. It is often easier to use soy wax flakes, but you can use blocks if desired. Remember to use caution when melting your wax and never leave wax or tarts melting or candles burning unattended. Melt the soy wax in a double boiler–do NOT heat soy wax directly on the stove in a saucepan, as it can cause the wax to overheat and potentially cause injury. While the wax is melting, prepare your molds by spraying them with non-stick cooking spray and ensure they are placed on a level surface.
