How to make some really good biscuits Preheat Oven to 450F. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt & soda. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in milk until dough leaves side of bowl and rounds up into a ball. Turn onto lightly floured suface. Knead lightly until smooth (about 10 times). Roll or pat dough 3/4″ thick and cut with cutter or mold into biscuit shape. Place 1″ apart on cookie sheet for crusty crust. Brush tops with margarine. Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
