Ask permission first–most business owners will be happy for you to haul away the pallets. Find pallets of similar width and length. This makes it easier to work with them when building a project. Pallets provide excellent building material for temporary structures. Building permits should be obtained before you erect permanent structures. Also, get your building plan approved by local authorities when using wood pallets as a building material. Pound a 5-foot steel post into the ground every four feet along the entire length of the planned fence. Turn a pallet up on end and wire it to the steel posts, both at the top and at the bottom of its four corners. Alternate the direction of the deck boards each time a new pallet is added to the fence.
