Glycerol, or glycerin, is a common ingredient that is used in the production of soap in many people’s homes. All the ingredients required for manufacturing your own glycerol soap can easily be obtained at your local chain department store or craft store. Step 1 Place one pound of glycerin in the microwave-safe bowl and melt it until it is entirely dissolved. This process may take several minutes. Step 2 Stir the mixture while it is in the microwave minimally as excessive movement in the liquid can lead to bubbles in the soap. Step 3 Pour either 1/2 ounce of any fragrance oil of your choice or 1 teaspoon of essential oil of your choice into the mixture while it is still warm. Slowly stir the oil into the glycerin.
