How Do You Make Small Yard Signs?
Make your own small yard signs, measuring 12-by-18-inches, from a few materials. Decide what the purpose of your signs will be and how long they may be displayed in your yard–a “Garage Sale” sign or Halloween tombstone will be temporary; a “Beware of Dog” sign will be permanent. Whether you make them from wood or other sturdy materials, they should draw attention and clearly express your intended message in a friendly, polite way. No carpentry skills are needed, but a little artistic creativity will help. Decide what you want to say on your sign to determine the size you will need for the boards, the size of your letters and the length of the wood stake for your completed signs. If necessary, draw one on plain paper to calculate the wood size for the sign and wood letters. You may want to make your sign on more than one board, one over the other, for all the wording.
