Making a slipcover for a sofa is not as difficult as one might think. In the upcoming steps I will describe how to make a slip cover for both a couch with cushions and without. Just remember to select a fabric that is heavy duty and will wear well through multiple washings. If you have any question as to whether your fabric will qualify for all of the above then consult with your friendly Fabric store worker…. or your Grandma. Measure your couch: length, width, and height from the bottom of the back of the couch. Determine the yardage of the couch from these dimensions. If you want to make separate covers for your cushions then measure them separately and add the yardage accordingly. In order for your slip cover to be one peice of fabric then you must sew the lengths of your fabric (matching from top to bottom of the lengths of fabric) to each other.
