How Do You Make Simple Paper Beads?
Paper beads can be a beautiful component of any beading project. They’re so lightweight they’re a pleasure to wear as jewelry. Paper beads can be made quite simply, even by children, or they can be made in more complex patterns and designs. Once you master the basic technique of rolling paper beads, imagination is your only limit. One-inch, tapered beads are the easiest style to learn. Lay your paper on the cutting surface, wrong-side up. Any paper will work; I like to use 12×12 inch scrapbook paper (not card stock weight). Use your ruler and pencil to mark along the bottom edge at one-inch increments, beginning at the right edge of the paper. Along the top edge, make your first mark 1/2 an inch in from the edge. Then mark in one-inch increments from there. Make your first cut from the 1/2 inch mark at the top edge to the bottom-right corner. You can discard this piece.
