There is nothing more beautiful than a simple Italian tomato sauce. When I see anyone, especially Italians, use bottled Italian tomato sauce, it drives me insane. Bottled sauces have so many foreign ingredients and what I call “gobbledigook” in them it makes me want to cry. There are a few bottled sauces that have just a few natural ingredients in them, but very few. What is so hard about putting olive oil in a sauce pan, adding a chopped onion, sauté for few minutes, add the smashed and chopped cloves of garlic, salt and pepper to taste and sauté until onion is translucent. At this time, if you wish, you may add the red pepper seeds or the wine or both. Add fresh tomatoes, or canned peeled Italian tomatoes or diced tomatoes, stir and bring to a simmer. Add can of crushed tomatoes, stir and bring to a simmer. Turn heat down to a slow simmer for as short or as long as you wish. There are many other ways to make Italian tomato sauce using braccioli or pork tenderloin, or chicken, or Ital
