How Do You Make Shredded Pork Sandwiches?
All you need is a crock pot, pork ribs or a pork roast, and a night (8 to 12 hours, depending on the amount of meat) to prepare them. Place clean meat in the crock pot on low setting (I pull off excess visible fat, and rinse with warm water.) If I decide to add sliced onions, and / or pepper chunks (yellow, orange, or red bell peppers add great flavor), I do it at this time. I than put on the lid and go to bed for the night. Or, if preparing in the a.m., I go about my day and forget about for 8-12 hours. After 8 -12 hours, I pull the meat off the bones, and remove any excess fat. The meat is falling apart at this time, and easy to work with (but hot). I than put the meat back in the crock pot, and shred it up with a fork. I add my favorite barbecue sauce (the Kraft traditional sauce is yummy) A 16 oz bottle will work for 4-5 pounds of meat. Use more or less, as to your desire. Heat through, about another 30 min. on low in the crock pot. Spoon onto your favorite buns or hoagie rolls. A
