How Do You Make Shapes Out Of Soy Candle Wax?
Soy wax is created from soybean oil and this wax may be purchased from craft stores to create your own candles at home. Once you have melted the wax down to a liquid form, pour it into molds to create wax shapes. This type of wax is easy to clean and can be removed from pans and molds with just soap and water, so you do not have to worry about damaging your cookware when working with soy candle wax. Boil approximately 2 to 3 cups of water in the bottom pan of a double boiler. Place 8 to 16 oz. of soy wax in the top pan of the double boiler. Heat the wax over the boiling water until it reaches 185 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a candy thermometer to check the temperature and avoid scorching the wax. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in any candle dye or fragrance at this time. Pour the melted soy candle wax carefully into candle molds or silicone baking molds.
