Step 2 Hold the cut leaf right side up over a sink, allowing the dark, red resin to drain out. Step 3 Place the leaf on a cutting board. Step 4 Hold your knife parallel to the cutting board and slice away the top layer of the leaf. Step 5 Slice away the right and left sides of the leaf.
