How Do You Make Seed Starter Pots From Cardboard Tubes?

0

Purchasing seed starter trays for all of your garden seeds can become very expensive. Instead make your own seed starter pots from paper towel and toilet paper rolls. These pots are easy and free. The cardboard seed starter pots can also be added directly to your garden so there’s less chance of damaging your seedlings’ roots. Flatten the cardboard roll and crease the sides. Unflatten and flatten again so the previous creases line up. Now your cardboard roll should have 4 sides and 4 corners. Cut the rolls to make shorter tubes. Cutting toilet paper rolls in half makes a good size. On one end of the small tube, cut along each of the creases about 5/8 of an inch. Fold down flaps, creasing well. Interlock the flaps like a box top. Fill your seed starter pots with soil and plant your seeds. When your seedling are ready to go in the garden, simply plant the entire pot. The cardboard will decompose in the ground and will protect the roots during transplanting.
