How Do You Make Scented Hand Towels?
In many Asian countries, a meal begins with hot towels used for cleaning the hands before eating. Offer dinner guests a warm hand towel that has a lovely scent. Wrap a small amount of dried rosebuds, lavender and fennel in a few layers of cheesecloth or loosely woven muslin, and tie it closed with kitchen twine. Steep the sachet in a teapot for just a few minutes. Dampen small washcloths with the steaming, infused water and then wring out. Set on a small dish at each guest’s place. For an added treat, make two sets and offer each guest a towel after they eat as well.
