How Do You Make Scalloped Potatoes And Sausage?

This is a tasty and relatively easy recipe that I enjoy. This dish can be prepared ahead of time, covered and baked when needed. Wash and peel potatoes and boil in salted water until almost cooked (note, will cook in oven later). Carefully remove potatoes from water and slice about 1/4 inch thick. Place sausages in a pot with enough water to cover. Heat until the water starts to boil. Remove sausages and slice on the diagonal about 1/4 inch thick slices. Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour slowly to make sure the sauce is smooth and no clumps have formed. Slowly stir in the milk. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring all the time until the sauce just begins to boil. Remove from heat. Assemble potatoes, sausage and sauce in alternating layers in a 13 x 9 inch baking pan or casserole dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper after the potato layer. Bake for 45 min to 1 hour at 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
