Gently wipe the wax off with a paper towel (lightly brushing off will do). Next, paint the ornament with craft paint. Allow the paint to dry entirely. (Use coordinating colors: heart=red; star=yellow; tree=green; etc.) Using sandpaper, sand the ornaments lightly, making sure to sand well on the previously waxed areas. You may sand to your liking, whether you would like a more or less “worn” look. Wipe ornament off to remove dust from sanding when finished. Using the sponge brush, apply stain to ornament (both sides and edges). Wipe with paper towel immediately, leaving a small layer of stain. Continue wiping and/or polishing ornament until you are suited with the color. You may reapply stain until you are happy with the turnout. Allow ornament to dry completely.
