How Do You Make Rubber Fishing Worms?
Few things are more satisfying than catching a fish on a lure you’ve made yourself. Plastic worms provide anglers with an effective means of catching a variety of fish under many different conditions. You can make your own fishing worms with plastic and commercial molds. For that matter, you can make your own molds. Mix plaster and water in the aluminum pan until the combination fills 1 inch of the pan. The plaster mixture must be bubble-free and should have a consistency similar to cake batter. Place sections of three wooden dowels (approximately 2 to 3 inches in length) in the plaster. These will help align the two halves of the mold while making worms. Cover the plastic worm with Vaseline or vegetable oil and place it in the pan. Make sure that half of the worm is submerged by lining up the worm’s seam with the plaster. Repeat this step with additional plastic worms if you have space. Remove the worm(s) after the plaster has hardened. Lay strips of aluminum foil along the edges of t
