How Do You Make Roti Bread?
Roti is an unleavened griddle-baked bread from India, usually made with whole wheat flour. The roti is finished over an open flame for 10 to 15 seconds, a technique that causes it to fill with steam and puff up like a balloon. See also chapati and paratha. In Caribbean cookery(which is how my family makes it when we make them), a roti is a crepelike (see crepe) wheat wrapper filled with curried vegetables, fish or meat. Knead flour, water, and salt to make a dough Let dough sit for about half an hour Cut into small portions about 8-10 Take each portion and roll out into a round shape. Be sure to have enough flour while rolling so that your dough does not stick to the surface. Cook in a flat griddle with a little oil Enjoy they are wonderful with some kind of curry or we make them we have Jamaican Jerk Chicken!!
