How Do You Make Rice Krispy Bird Nests?
I came up with this recipe for “rice krispy bird nests” when my daughter was in preschool. These are an easy and adorable treat. The cute nests are great for spring classroom parties, or a fun treat at home! Prepare one batch of original rice krispy treats as directed on the rice krispy cereal box. Press the mixture into buttered mini cup cake tins to form the “nest”. Remove from the pan and set aside to harden a bit. Mix the vanilla frosting with a few drops of green food coloring. Put the frosting into a heavy zipper bag. Snip a small corner of the bag. Squirt some frosting into the middle of each mini nest to make it look like grass. Place 3 to 4 mini jelly beans on top of the green icing. These represent the “eggs”.
