How Do You Make Rhubarb Leaf Stepping Stones For A Fountain?
Garden water fountains not only provide needed refuge and water for birds, but they give a peaceful sound to the garden—and add some character to your landscape. One creative way to use your plants to decorate your garden is to turn a rhubarb or other large leaf into stepping stones or a bowl for a birdbath or water fountain. It’s not a difficult project and doesn’t take much in the way of special equipment. Place a piece of plastic flat on a level surface like a concrete walkway. The plastic must be at least 6 inches larger than the leaf you’ll use for this project. Be sure the area where you work can be left undisturbed for a few days. Center a freshly cut rhubarb leaf or other fresh, large leaf on the plastic with the raised veins facing up. Follow the manufacturer’s directions to mix the concrete in a wheelbarrow.
