How Do You Make Red Cabbage Jambalaya?
Recently, I bought a rather large amount of ground pork that was reduced for quick sale at my local grocery store. While trying to find new and exciting ways to prepare it, I created this recipe which is incredibly simple and surprisingly delicious. This jambalaya is also extremely versatile and a great way to use up any leftover meat in your fridge. Get out a large stock pot. Add the ground pork, onion, celery, and garlic cloves. Sprinkle with some pepper, and your favorite seasonings. I use California red chili pepper and a little cumin. Cook until the pork is browned. *Ground beef or turkey may be substituted for the ground pork. Once the pork is browned, add the can of diced tomatoes, 2 cups of water, chopped chicken breasts, one cup of white rice, and the chopped red cabbage. *You can substitute sausage or shrimp for the chicken with great results. Also, green cabbage may be substituted for the red, just use what you have. Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and reduce heat. S
