How Do You Make Realistic Fake Coagulated Blood?

0

When creating a gruesome, horrifying costume, fake blood is so much more convenient than the real thing. Here is a recipe to create a convincing (and delicious) bloody mess. Measure 1/8 of a cup of corn syrup and pour into a bowl. Add 50 – yes, fifty, drops of red food coloring to the corn syrup. Stir until the food coloring is mixed into the corn syrup. Add 1, maybe 2 drops of the blue food coloring the the mixture and continue to stir. The blue helps remove the anemic appearance of the fake blood mixture. Slowly add flour to the mixture to get rid of the clear, syrupy consistency. Start with about 1 teaspoon of flour. Sprinkle the flour in slowly, while stirring so the mixture won’t clump up. Continue adding flour until the “blood” reached the color and consistency you desire. More flour makes the “blood” seem coagulated or clotted. Too little flour results in watery blood. This blood can be stored for up to a week if refrigerated in an air tight container.
