How Do You Make Real Texas Hershey Kiss Cookies?
Real Texas Hershey Kiss Cookies are one of our favorite cookies. I make them any time of the year. I like to include them in my Christmas Platters year after year. They are so simple to make, yet they look so fancy and really dress up any cookie dish. Heat oven to 375 F degrees. Unwrap the individual Hershey Kisses. This takes the longest time…unwrap two, eat one…you really need to keep as many unwrapped Hershey Kisses as possible. Place unwrapped Hershey Kisses in a bowl and hide! If you leave on the countertop before you make your cookie dough, unwanted visitors will sneak and eat them! Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. (I use chunky peanut butter, but you can use smooth) Add 1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar. Beat until fluffy. Add egg, milk, and vanilla and beat well. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually beat into peanut butter mixture. I then mix with my hands to make sure all the flour is blended into the cookie dough.
