How Do You Make Rainy-Day Silly Putty?

When it’s rainy (or snowy) outside and the kids are itching to do something fun, this is a great activity to add a bit of enjoyment to a boring day. It’s quick, easy, and can be made in your child’s favorite color. Not only will your children love to play with it, but it’ll take you back to your own childhood rainy-days! Into a medium sized shallow mixing bowl place the white Elmer’s glue. Slowly add the liquid starch to the white glue while kneading the mixture together with your fingers. Knead until will incorporated. Make a small indentation in the center of the mixture and add 3 drops of your favorite color of food coloring. Knead the silly putty until the color has been evenly distributed throughout. To store your finished silly putty, place it inside the plastic eggs. Keep the eggs sealed tightly when the silly putty isn’t in use.
