How Do You Make Quick And Easy Smoked Fish Dip?
Nothing is more popular at a party than smoked fish dip. However, most traditional recipes call for actually smoking the fish, which tends to be time consuming. Here is a recipe for a quick and easy dip that tastes just as good as the traditional recipe. I purchase my salmon fillets at the “W-mart”. A one lb. package costs about $4, and can make up to 2 lbs. of fish dip. To prepare the fillets, cook them in a toaster oven (or conventional oven), on 350F for about 15 minutes or until “well done”. (They need to be a bit on the “dry” side to have the proper dip texture!) Once the fillets have cooled, loosely crumble them into a mixing bowl. Then blend in the cheese (room temperature), and the remaining ingredients. I mix everything with 2 forks, so that the dip has a coarse flaky texture. However, a mixer or food processor will work, as long as it ISN’T over-mixed to the point of baby-food consistency. Chill the dip a minimum of 30 minutes before serving, to allow the various flavors to m
