PVC pipe has risen in popular due to its affordability and ease of installation. Unlike copper piping, there is no need to use a torch to solder the piping together. Therefore, PVC piping can be installed inside of tight areas with no risk of fire. To make a PVC connection, solvents, cleaner and glue are needed. The cleaner removes oil, film, and impurities from the surface of the PVC pipe. This allows the PVC glue to bind the PVC pipe and fittings together in an unbreakable bond. Measure the length of the piece of PVC pipe you are installing. Place a mark for the length on the PVC pipe with the permanent marker. Cut the pipe to length with the PVC cutter. Remove the bur left by the PVC cutter with the file. Wipe the connection with a clean rag to remove the particles left from filing from the end of the pipe. Open the cap of the PVC cleaner.
