You can buy laundry soap or detergent at any grocery store, but wouldn’t it be nice to be able to make your own, for only pennies per load? Now you can. This article will show you how to make Powdered Laundry Soap at home, in only a few minutes. This recipe makes four cups of powdered laundry soap. Assemble the ingredients for homemade powdered laundry soap. Using a kitchen grater or food processor, grate the bar of soap and put it in a large bowl. If using a food processor, leave the soap in the processor bowl and add the other ingredients. Measure out 1 ½ cups of Washing Soda (NOT baking soda) and add to the bowl with the grated soap. Measure out 1 ½ cups of 20 Mule Team Borax and add to the bowl with the grated soap and washing soda. Mix well so the soap, washing soda, and borax are evenly mixed.
