The “Alchemy” skill in Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind allows you to mix ingredients together to make potions, each of which yields a variety of positive and negative effects when used. You can also concoct potions using relatively useless ingredients, in order to sell them to merchants (in many cases, the value of a potion will be more than the combined price of each individual component). Making potions will also help raise your Alchemy skill. Press the “Back” button on your Xbox controller to open the menu. Select the Mortar and Pestle from your inventory by pressing the “A” button (you must have this item to make potions). This will open the Alchemy window. Equip a Retort, Alembic, and Calcinator by selecting the empty squares under “Apparatus” in the Alchemy window. These are optional, but will improve the quality of the potion you make.
