More than likely your polymer clay doll needs some lifelike hands to hold something. Learn to see the details in your hands and this will add to your doll making abilities. Condition clay by working it with your hands till it’s soft and workable. Roll out 2 small balls of clay and make a tube with one of them. This tube will be the wrist and should be sized according to the size of the doll. If you are attaching the hand to a dowel or wire arms, then put a hole in the wrist so you can insert it onto the arm of the doll after baking. The second ball is placed at the end of the clay tube wrist and pressed into a mitten shape. Blend well. Cut out and remove an area of clay between the fingers and thumb area. Roll, shape and pat it until it looks like a thumb. Cut three lines to create the four fingers. Trim fingers to proper length.
