How Do You Make Plum BBQ Sauce To Die For?
The display of bottles of BBQ sauce in any grocery store on any given day is vast. While most of us have favorites — it’s so easy to open a bottle and pour — consider making it from scratch! It’s easier than you think, and oh, so good! Although this recipe calls for Santa Rosa plums, any plum will do. Enjoy! Cut ripe plums in half and remove seeds (pits). With skins left on, chop into quarter size pieces. Put into 2 quart non reactive saucepan. Chop 1/2 onion and 1 seeded jalapeno pepper. Add to saucepan. Add 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cinnamon stick, 1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup rice vinegar, 1 cup BBQ sauce (your choice) and 1 clove minced garlic. Bring to boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick and cool. Spoon into jar — I use a quart Mason jar. It won’t quite fill, but will come close. Will keep in fridge for a couple of weeks. This BBQ sauce is absolutely super on everything!
