Here is a quick, easy recipe for a homemade pie crust that will complement whatever pie you are attempting for your next fall event! Combine flour, salt, shortening and cold water. Mix together until it combines to form a ball that you can knead with your hands. Flour your rolling surface. Rub some extra flour up and down your rolling pin as well. Pat the ball of dough and start to flatten into as even a disc as possible. Begin rolling with pin in even strokes outward from the center of the dough until you get an even circle about 10-12″ wide. You can always roll back together and start over if it is not rolling evenly. If you surface if floured well enough, you should be able to pick up the dough to lay flat into a pie dish.
