How Do You Make Perfume Dusting Powder?
Perfumed dusting powders have been in use for centuries. Especially beneficial in warm weather, dusting powder helps keep skin comfortable. The addition of baking soda contributes a deodorizing property, and cornstarch absorbs moisture to keep the skin cool and dry. Choose your favorite perfume oil or essential oil(s) to customize your dusting powder. Packaged in an attractive shaker or flat container with a powder puff, perfumed dusting powder makes a great gift. Vary the fragrance to suit the recipient—man, woman or child. Combine cornstarch, rice flour or tapioca starch, baking soda and arrowroot powder in a nonreactive metal or ceramic bowl. Whisk to combine. Drop 10 to 15 drops of essential or perfume oil onto a large cotton ball. Use a single scent or blend complementary scents.
