Forget Toll House. The recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag? Forget it. It’s supposed to be this all-American icon, the chocolate chip cookie, and yet I have been unable to find that perfect, foolproof recipe. I finally found this recipe and have made it several times with good results. Preheat oven to 325. Line one or two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Melt 3/4 cup of butter (1*1/2 sticks) and set aside. In a small bowl whisk together 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons of flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. In a large bowl cream the melted butter with 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 1*1/4 cup dark brown sugar. Add 1 whole egg and 1 egg yolk. Stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Blend the flour mixture with the butter mixture. Fold in 1*1/2 cup regular -sized semisweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips. Using an ice cream scoop, form the dough into balls and set two inches apart on cookie sheet. Press each dough ball in center to flatten sl
