Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Drain the peaches and reserve the juice. In a saucepan, add the reserved juice and cornstarch. Stir the juice and cornstarch together until the cornstarch is dissolved. Add the sugar, butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and orange peel. Cook this mixture over low heat until it becomes slightly thickened. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the brandy. Arrange peaches in a 9 X 13 baking pan. Sprinkle the almonds over the peaches. Pour the sauce over the top. Cover with your favorite pie crust dough. Prick the crust with the tines of a fork. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until the top of the crust has turned a golden brown color.
