Paper chains can be made in all colors and sizes. They are a cheap and easy way to make decorations. It is also a nice craft to do with kids. Select your paper. For Christmas, you will probably want to use red and green construction paper. But you can use any colors that you like. Orange and black would be good for Halloween. Red and white would be nice for Valentines day. Ideally, use construction paper or colored paper that measures 8.5″ x 11.5″ or 8.5″ x 14″. Measure and mark the paper. If you are good at eye balling measurements and can cut a straight line then you can just skip to step 4 and start cutting strips of paper and skip to step 4. If you are not good at free-style cutting, then you will want to mark your paper before cutting. Use a ruler and a pencil and lightly mark lines across the paper about 1/2 to 1 inch apart depending on how thick you want your chains. Cut paper. Cut across lines you just drew, or if you skipped step 3, then cut strips that are 1/2 to 1 inch wide
