Oversized headbands look adorable on tiny tots’ heads. But it’s not necessary to purchase these accessories in a store. For a fraction of the cost, they can be made at home. This project is especially fun because it’s customizable: you can make a headband that matches a special outfit or everyday wear. Measure around the baby’s head, from the area just behind the forehead to the base of the skull where the neck begins. Be sure to pull the tape measure taut; the lace will stretch. Subtract a half inch from the measurement and cut a length of stretchy lace to match that number. The lace needs to be at least 2 to 3 inches wide to accommodate any bows or flowers that will be attached to it, but it can be wider. Stitch the ends of the lace together to form a circle.
