How Do You Make Orange Tofu Stirfry?
Orange chicken was one of my sister’s favorite dishes back before she became a vegetarian. I created this dish so that she could still enjoy the flavor of it. The sauce is basically the same sauce that you would use for orange chicken and frying the tofu makes it palatable for even those who hate tofu. Heat the 1/2 cup of oil over medium high heat in the wok. Pour the 1/4 cup of cornstarch into the freezer bag and set aside. Remove the tofu from the container and slice into one inch cubes. Pat the cubes with a clean, dry towel to remove excess moisture. Drop the tofu into the freezer bag with the cornstarch and seal the bag. Shake gently to ensure that each tofu cube is covered with cornstarch. Test the temperature of the oil by placing the handle of a wooden spoon into the middle of the wok. If small bubbles appear around the wooden handle, then the oil is hot enough. Place half of the tofu cubes into the hot oil and cook for about five minutes. The tofu cubes should be golden brown o
