How Do You Make Orange Mandarin Congealed Salad?
This orange mandarin congealed salad is my Grandmother’s recipe.It is delicious! When we were growing up we always had a congealed salad with our Sunday meal at grandma’s house. We always looked forward to it! I know a lot of you will probably wonder why it’s called congealed salad and not jello salad. Well, if you are a southern woman it has always been called congealed salad. No matter what you call it, you will love it and the kids will too!! Using a 13″x 9″ glass dish add 1 box of orange jello, stir in 3 cups of hot water, water should be hot enough to dissolve the jello, stir until all jello is dissolved, Stir in 1 teaspoonful of sugar. Add 1 small can of crushed pineapple, drain the pineapple. Add 1 small can of mandarin oranges, drain the oranges, I also usually chop up the oranges into smaller pieces before adding them.
