Fix this when you are using the oven for a roast, casserole, or anything that bakes for a while. That way you’ll be cooking dessert along with the main course. Pour milk into an oven safe casserole dish. Add rice, sugar, lemon juice, salt, and nutmeg. With a spoon, mix the above ingredients together until the sugar has dissolved. Add raisins if your family likes them. Place in a preheated oven, and bake at 300 degrees for 1 ½ hours or until liquid is absorbed. When baking this with other foods, adjust the length of cooking time according to the temperature. When baking at a higher temperature, bake the rice pudding for a shorter time.
