No matter how you spell it, ketchup is my all time favorite condiment. But their is none better than my grandmas old fashioned homemade ketchup. So round up the tomatoes and meet me in the kitchen. We’re going to make our own!!! Step 1 Select one peck of ripe tomatoes, cut in halves or quarters Step 2 Place in kettle and boil for a half an hour Step 3 Strain through the hair seive Step 4 After removing skins and seeds, return pulp to the kettle and add 1/2 a tablespoon of pepper, allspice, cloves, mace and mustard (all ground spices) and 3 tablespoons of salt. Step 5 Boil slowly four or five hours Step 6 Add on pint of vinegar and bottle. Enjoy! Heinz never tasted so good!
