In medium bowl cream 1/2 c. butter and 1 1/2 c. sugar together well. Add beaten eggs to creamed butter and sugar. Stir well. In small bowl, add 1 tsp. baking soda, 2 c. flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ground cloves, and 1 tsp. nutmeg. Mix together and then mix in 1 c. sour milk. Cool cherries while you do next 2 steps. Add flour mixture to the butter mixture, adding a little at a time and stiring well. Chop nuts and set aside. Drain cherries from water. Take drained cherries, chopped nuts, and 1 tsp. vanilla and add to rest of ingedients. Stir well together. Take cake pan and pour in mixture and bake 30
